Bourke Street Public School (BSPS) is an inner city school established in 1880 and located in heritage classified buildings. The school caters for the needs of children from a diverse multicultural community and provides quality education in a safe and happy school environment. The school has a support class for students with autism.

Student welfare is an important school priority and the school has a highly effective discipline policy. There is also a strong emphasis on assisting students to acquire competency in literacy, numeracy,computing skills and the creative and performing arts. BSPS is well-equipped to teach these skills. School resources are supplemented by funding from participation in the Priority Schools Program.

Cleveland Street Intensive English High School

 


Cleveland Street Intensive English High School provides intensive English language, settlement, orientation and welfare programs to secondary aged, newly arrived permanent, temporary resident and international students.

Students study at the school for between 15 to 50 weeks before transferring to over 30 different metropolitan government high schools, TAFE or the workplace. The English language program is taught through key learning areas. Settlement support and partnership programs are provided for the school's culturally and linguistically diverse parent community. The school's student and parent community come from more than 30 language backgrounds other than English. Bilingual staff support student learning and parent programs. The School's motto Harmony and Progress reflects the proactively inclusive education and welfare programs designed to enhance student resilience and achievement.

Conservatorium High School

 


The Conservatorium High School provides opportunities for musically gifted children to combine their musical and academic studies.

As a unique selective music school it aims to promote the musical talents of its students with extensive experience in all aspects of music both through school programs and by fostering interaction with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Established in 1849 and moving into its grand new building in 1879 makes it one of the oldest continuing schools in Australia. Darlinghurst Public School

 


Darlinghurst Public School (DPS) is nestled near St. Vincent's Hospital in the inner-city. The school was established in 1883 and has heritage classified buildings.

A large camphorlaurel tree dominates the playground. Its foliage provides shade for at least half of the playground, which is appreciated in summer.
The one hundred and seven year old building contains most of the classes, and like the tree, is a dominant feature of the school. Enrolments have been increasing steadily over the last couple of years as many families choose to bring their children to the local school. The school serves a diverse socio-economic community. DPS is a secure and safe environment for its students. The students show tolerance, understanding and respect for each other's rights and in so doing strive for self improvement and development. Academic performance is highly valued and is supported by a strong visual and performing arts program.

Sydney Distance Education High School (SDEHS) is a distance education high school located in the heart of Woolloomooloo, on the same campus as Plunkett St Primary School. SDEHS delivers individualised education programs to students in Years 7 to 12 whose special circumstances prevent them from attending school.

It also provides curriculum delivery to students in Years 9 to 12 studying a single subject not available at their home school. The school caters for students who live in the Greater Sydney Region.
